Balaban, Max 04/05/12

Max Balaban (San Diego Ca) commits to Plattsburgh State for the fall.

Hockey Talent in California is nothing new for Max Balaban who grew up in San Diego California and played with the San Diego Gulls organization through his 2nd year of midgets. He just completed his junior career with the Northern Cyclones of the Atlantic Jr Hockey League. He also spent 2 years playing prep school hockey at the Tilton School in New Hampshire. He has committed to Plattsburgh State for the fall.

Max Balaban finished his 2012 season ranking him #7 in AJHL Scoring 57 points in 44 games for the Northern Cyclones. His breakdown in scoring for the season. His player info is: Games44, Goals22, Assists35, Points57 Penalties34, Penalty minutes68. (see stats)

It’s no surprise Max is doing so well. His father Steve Balaban played for 4 years at Uconn in the 1970s. He had a decent career there and is still on the all time scoring list at #24 with 101 points in 99 games.

Steve Balaban handled the video for the San Diego Gulls Jr. A club in the WSHL. The youtube (see videos) channel has highlights from the Gulls games over the last 4 seasons as well as Max’s junior team and prep school where he played in New Hampshire.

We look forward to updates on Max
